The Rev. Michael Hafele grew up in Buffalo, NY and, ironically, is allergic to chicken and therefore Chicken (Buffalo) Wings. He studied and graduated with a degree in Religion at Hampden-Sydney College near the bustling metropolis of Farmville, not related to the video game of the same name, Virginia. Between his Junior and Senior years at Sydney, Mike met the love of his life Claudia, and they were engaged during his first year at seminary. Michael and Claudia were married in his second year and later he graduated earning his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Rev. Michael has served large and small churches in Pittsburgh, PA; Wenonah, New Jersey, and Charlotte, NC. Claudia and Michael have two children: Nikolas and Carina who are full of energy and love to keep their parents on their toes. The Hafeles arrived at Riverdale Presbyterian Church in August 2012 and are encouraged by the depth of faith, breadth of love, and fullness of diversity that makes RPC the wonderful community that it is. Michael’s passion is to encourage others to fulfill their calling even in non-traditional ways. Michael believes that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is never static or stagnant but is dynamic which both encourages and challenges the community of faith as well as to all whom they serve.
